Bold furniture colors are making a comeback! Clean, simple, and modern is nice, but there’s nothing that says you can’t have one statement piece to give your living spaces a splash of live. In this blogpost we have gathered 8 of our favorite statement colors and will show you how some of our favorite furniture designers and refurbishers have used them to transform normal furniture into must-have pieces. Whether your style is southern chic, sleek and modern, rustic, or bohemian, these bold furniture colors are sure to upgrade your living spaces.
1. Coal Black
Navy has never looked so good. This shade of blue is so rich, it’s on the cusp of black. Here, Skip Rat Susie shows us how Midnight Blue looks incredibly sophisticated, but you can still use it for more contemporary projects!
A little color goes a long way. This soft blue hue packs a big impact in a room with light colors. Little Teapot looks fantastic paired with gold hardware the way Black Barn Boutique used it, and it also pairs well with yellows, cool and warm whites, and other blues.
Champness is an incredibly versatile color with enough saturation to make an impact in your living space without overwhelming it. If you’re a fan of minimal colors looking to give your space more live, this is an excellent choice. We love the way Ginger Grace Creations made Champness look with Fusion Mineral Paint’s Furniture Wax in Ageing on top.
Fusion Mineral Paint was inspired by both the sea and sky when making this color, and it’s very evident in this beautifully painted piece by Refurbished Coastal Treasures. Champness is the perfect color to create a sense of calm and tranquility in a room.
If you found yourself thinking Little Teapot was not bold enough, then this might be the color for you. Azure is a bold yet refined hue with rich tones like the one found in vintage jewelry. Myriad Interiors shows us here how adding a little bit of copper details to Azure will make any piece an incredibly modern statement.
6. Pressed Fern
A personal favorite of mine, Pressed Fern is the definition of a statement piece. Beautiful, classic, and modern, Pressed fern is a vibrant dark green that looks superb combined with gold hardware and staged with wooden decorations and plants. Going for a more elegant look? Pair it with gold hardware and gold and white decorations to elevate this color to new heights.
Casement is the warm white color of our dreams. It pairs with virtually any color, and helps ground your room décor while still making a statement. Just look at this hallway desk that Polished Attic painted; simple and elegant with a vibe all of its own.
Prefer a more rustic look? Casement is great for that too! Here, Cali Roots and Texas Boots used Casement for this dresser set with black hardware, and a dark stained top to achieve a more barn house chic finish, and we could not be more obsessed!
8. Renfrew Blue
When talking about bold furniture colors, you have to mention Renfrew Blue! Talk about a statement. This cabinet painted in Renfrew Blue by Boxwood Designs is as charming as it is beautiful. Renfrew Blue is a bold and radiant hue of blue with teal tones. Paired with shades of white and gray, this color is sure to wow.
Why do we use and prefer Fusion Mineral Paint?
We have only been using Fusion Mineral Paint to paint furniture for the past few years. Once we discovered it’s amazing properties, it was hard to go back to anything else! Here are just a few reasons why you’ll never use another brand of paint again.
- Fusion Mineral Paints are non-toxic, lead free, virtually odorless and have no volatile organic compounds (VOC) and contain no ammonia or formaldehyde!
- Minimal prep work is required. With Fusion, you don’t need to use a primer unless you are worried about bleed through on your piece.
- Exceptional coverage, UV resistant, and is waterproof.
- Build in top coat eliminates the need for waxing for adding a top coat. Just clean your piece, paint it, and you’re done.
